Just a couple of points here - first, the discussion on 2+2=4 in
Dostoevsky's Notes from Underground. Worth looking up. Second,
Whitehead's emphasis on 2+2 as _process_ - the equivalence as a
result of gathering.

Third, beyond the couple, f(2,2)=4 - which might be written, to get rid of
the base and western bias, f(H,H)=J is a basic characteristic of the
Ackermann function in recursive analysis - which simply says, back to the
bias, that 2+2=4, 2*2=4, 2^2=4, etc. It has to do again with gathering and
summarizing (not summing) over the gathered.
